Laney: What does being apart of the #dearlaneygang mean to you?
AYG:It means I’m a part of a group of women who are goal oriented, beautiful, and fearless.
Laney: We love your handle, "youngfoxblood"! Can you tell us how you came up with that?
AYG:I wish I had some cool explanation as to how I came up with the name but it came to me a while ago when I was driving and saw a red fox running across the street. I just thought of how beautifully bold they are and ever since they’ve been a sign of change for me. I rarely see them in the wild but when I do it kind of symbolic for me. Fox blood came from the color of the red fox and the word “young” is a word symbolizing development and a beginning stage.
Laney:What is your go to look for day? For night?
AYG:I call my overall style “tailored grunge” but lately I’ve been loving sportswear so I would say during the day I’m Sporty Spice but at night I’m Posh Spice with a bit of an edge.
Laney: We love your work, what inspired you to start painting?
AYG:Honestly painting was just a way for me to express myself and a form of therapy. I never expected to take off the way it did in the beginning. I started off wanting to master portrait painting but I had to find a reason to paint using bright iridescent colors so I incorporated into my portrait drawing. Eventually people wanted to buy the artwork, some pieces that I didn’t even think were finished, and the rest is history!
Laney: Where are you from? AYG:Philly, born and raised.
Laney: Who is your ultimate fashion muse?
AYG:I love FKA twigs style. Her style is always evolving but it’s still her, if you know what I mean.
Laney: What's on your playlist?
AYG:I listen to so much music, it’s my go to when I’m painting or creating. I listen to whatever music that complements my mood. Sometimes I listening to trap music, then some Selena (Quintanilla), Brazilian baile funk, or Beethoven when I want to really concentrate.
Laney: Are you a 90's R&B kind of girl?
AYG:Of course! I’m a 90s baby. I have a playlist of 90s R&B.
Laney: Tell us something you would tell the 15 year old you?
AYG:I wish I could tell my 15 year old self to not care so much of what people think about me.
Laney: Tell us a secret?
AYG:No shade, but I lowkey hate cats.
Laney:Make up tips?
AYG:Lately I’ve been wearing a lot less makeup, most days I don’t wear makeup unless I’m doing a shoot or going to work. I believe less is more. Foundation and a nude lip goes a long way.
Laney: Right now, what are you most looking forward to in life?
AYG:Making enough money so I can buy my mom a new house.
Laney: 3 Things you can't live without?
AYG:Mac and cheese, art supplies, and books
Laney: It's the month of love, give us some dating tips?
AYG:I literally never had a boyfriend around Valentine’s Day so I’m the wrong person to give any love advice lol
Laney: The best date and worst you've ever been on?
AYG:The best date I had was at a museum, honestly that’s a way to my heart so he got kudos for that! Worst date was with a guy who took me to get sushi but didn’t pay for my meal. How do you take a girl to get sushi and make her pay???
Brag about yourself........ AYG: I have a lot of things going on now, which is great. I’ve been developing my own clothing line for a while now and I now have more time to dedicate to my new art collection that incorporates fashion, architecture and fine arts. I have a few group exhibits coming up and I’m planning to have another solo show this summer.
